"The fate of all explanation is to close one door only to have another fly wide open". Charles Fort. "Fortean tales" takes this concept to a whole new level. It presents a series of organic, pulsating, weird sound sources recorded (rigorously live) in various "haunted" and mysterious locations throughout Italy. These sources have been subsequently reworked (no added synthesizers or "artificial instruments" were used though) and organized into two 19,00 minutes tracks. Once again, OLHON stun and impress. Destined to all open-minded dark ambient lovers. The LP comes in a limited edition of 400 hand-numbered copies, in marbled brown/orange/green vinyl.
It`s an interesting feeling being inside a pressurized tube and feeling rhythm and warmth. But I find it common since a bath sound from the childhood. It was more about the water falling to the water, but also warm. Also, I feel like I`m in space and there is an object exposing hard radiation near. These both feelings make me wonder by myself enjoying at first glance the “noise”. And yes, all other albums seem to be superficial. And as a plus this sounds natural, not digitally generated. infinity
If you haven't yet gone down the dark ambient late night bandcamp Cryo Chamber rabbit hole - you are totally missing out! This however is the one release from the label that I would consider a notch above all others, in terms of concept and execution. Pretty much flawless collaboration that sends you into an hour plus haze. Nice. bcb723
